Refuge
Mission: Create accessibility and respite for deserving family.
Project "Refuge" was designed with one clear goal in mind: to create a place of safety, peace, and restoration for an entire family. This carefully planned home addition and master suite renovation provided mom and dad with a private retreat of their own while delivering a fully ADA-accessible bathroom designed to support their beloved son’s daily needs.
One of the most meaningful features of the project—and the homeowners’ favorite—was the extensive soundproofing integrated throughout the addition. Sound barrier gypsum board and sound batt insulation were installed in key areas to create quiet, restful spaces where parents could truly relax while maintaining comfort and functionality for their son. The result is a home that feels peaceful without sacrificing practicality.
The addition was designed to blend seamlessly with the existing structure, matching roof pitch, cornice details, beam reveals, and ceiling heights to feel as though it had always been part of the home. Interior elements such as a barn door, boxed ceiling details, and carefully planned lighting and storage elevate the space while keeping it grounded and livable.
Drafting services were completed by Drafting and Design of East Tennessee, with interiors thoughtfully curated by Marshanda Pinchok Interiors. Through close collaboration and detailed planning, our team completed the project two months ahead of schedule and under the original projected budget.
Project Refuge is a true reflection of what home can be when design meets compassion. Our team was honored to serve this family and create a space that supports independence, rest, and connection—one they will enjoy for many years to come.
